How to make your snow removal easier
How to make your snow removal easier
Please refer to Snow removal guide for situations where you must keep your vehicle(s) in your driveway during the winter. These tips will help us to better clean your driveway in a safe and efficient way. Thank you.
Throughout the winter season, you can check Deneigement Loyal's Facebook page for weather updates, snowplowing information, installation of pickets, etc.
During a snowstorm, snowplows complete a first pass to clean up the snowbanks left by the city plow at the entrance of your driveway. Another pass will be made to do a complete snow removal of your driveway. Multiple passes may be required as the snow continues to fall.
Deneigement Loyal offers the "LoyalAlert" system. The LoyalAlert system may provide an automated phone call or text message approximately 30 minutes before the driver arrives for the final snow removal pass, asking you to remove your car(s) from your driveway.
Please be patient and courteous with our drivers and receptionists, they do their best to meet your expectations. It is important to note that during heavy snowfalls, when multiple passes are required, drivers will take rest and meal breaks in order to remain productive. It is also a security issue; a tired driver is a dangerous driver. Deneigement Loyal does everything possible to provide the best possible service.
We want to start by thanking you for your loyalty each season. It has come to our attention that some of you have questions about our snow removal process. We would like to take this opportunity to help clarify any questions or concerns you may have. You will find below a summary of our operations during a snowstorm.
Pickets
As soon as you have confirmed your contract and made a payment, your account will be activated. We set up our pickets to mark the opening of your driveway ONLY but we use GPS to plan our routes. Please note it is your responsibility to mark any further areas of your property ex grass, walkway, stairs etc. We know that pickets can get damaged during the season so please contact us if you need yours replaced. In the spring we collect our pickets and it's best to leave them visible near your house. Please note that you could be charged for missing pickets.
When we start a snow operation
During the winter months, we continuously monitor weather conditions (hour after hour) and are in close contact with the sub-contractor and City of Deux-Montagnes teams who clean our roads. When there is an accumulation of 5cm of snow we typically head out to begin our services. Our first pass is usually scheduled once the city plows have passed. Our goal is to remove the snow banks created by their plows and do a quick cleaning so you can get out of your driveway without a problem. Depending on the amount of snow, we will restart our routes and remove the snow from your driveway as needed. Please note that our routes can take an average of 4 to 4 ½ hours to complete per pass depending on the snow fall from the time we depart. We will post our updates to our Facebook page during snow operations.
Removing cars
This is typically when the storm is done (usually the following morning) that we do our final pass to make your driveway "Completely clean". To facilitate this, your vehicles need to be removed from your driveway. A general time for you to remove your vehicles and put them out on the road is 8am. If you were unable to remove your car for our final pass, the deadline to contact us after a storm for a cleaning is 24h. Please note the tractor cannot wait while you come out of your house, clean off your car to move it when they arrive. We want to keep up our production. If you have to keep a vehicle in your driveway, please refer to our Snow removal guide If you like shoveling for all the areas our tractor can't access like stairs, tempos or roofs please do it before we come to clean. We ask that you please do not pile the snow in your driveway after our tractors have passed for our final cleaning. We are not responsible for your shoveled snow and will not go back to pick it up if our routes are over for the day. (Let's work together!)
Loyal alerts
Our Loyal alert system is for use at our discretion. We do not send out an alert for every pass. We generally send out an alert only for our "final pass". This will often be the next morning after a storm.
When and how to contact us
It's very important that our phone lines stay open for emergency purposes and for the safety of our clients. For this reason we ask that you only call us in an emergency. You can always reach us via email at: info@deneigementloyal.com or through Facebook messenger. We are not responsible for damages to your grass, gravel or Pave uni driveway. For this reason, we will not plow gravel and grass driveways unless the ground is frozen. This may mean that your driveway won't be done the first few snowfalls AND early spring if the ground has thawed and/or is too muddy. We are also not responsible for rocks on your property from gravel driveways or the city roads. We offer a rock sweeping service for the spring - please contact us for a quote! That being said, we understand that damages do happen. Please report them as soon as possible by emailing us at info@deneigementloyal.com with your address and pictures if possible. All damages need to be reported by May 1. Our office hours are 9-5 Monday to Friday. Please contact us if there are any changes to your file as it may affect your price.
*We will post to our Facebook page when we are heading out and any updates as needed. We ask that you please check our page before contacting us.*
